Can you believe we’re already halfway through summer? This season always keeps me on my toes – I’m really looking forward to the weekend already (and it’s only Tuesday). Recently, a good friend invited me to HomeGoods to help her find affordable home decor for her living room bookcases. I was eager to join, especially since I’m hunting for a new summer quilt. While there, she asked how I manage not to feel overwhelmed by all the different choices and sifting through endless amounts of decor items. I explained that I focus on finding items that feel timeless and that speak to me personally (which really helps narrow down the selection). This sparked an idea and I thought, why not share some of the standout pieces I discovered and show you how to identify them! Keep in mind, each Home Goods location offers unique products, but you can usually find similar items across stores.
Woven furniture is a great choice to add a bit of rustic texture to any room, and it’s handcrafted appeal make it versatile for various decor styles. This stool is also artisan-made, so you can guarantee that no two stools are alike. I fell in love with this woven stool and really considered bringing it home with me, but unfortunately I don’t really have anywhere for it. Even after a few days, it’s still on my mind – I think I need to go back and get it..
A Ralph Lauren lamp is the epitome of classic elegance. Whether placed on a bedside table or in a living room, the traditional shape of this lamp will easily provide a touch of luxury and refinement to any space. I’m going to be really honest – I don’t usually purchase (or even like) the styles of lamps that are typically at HomeGoods. But sometimes, you do find a little diamond in the rough!
Full disclosure – I rarely buy furniture from Home Goods. In my experience, the quality can be hit or miss, and the pieces are often on the smaller side (please don’t hate me!). However, today I found a gem – a perfect little side chair for a kids’ room. Home Goods can actually be great for kids’ spaces because you can find affordable home decor and avoid investing in something they’ll outgrow quickly. I loved this chair for its classic shape which will fit seamlessly into various settings and ensures longevity in style.
Art is something I usually overlook at HomeGoods, but recently I came across a painting that stopped me in my tracks. Its floating canvas, oversized presence, soft muted hues, and sleek modern frame gave it a surprisingly luxurious look. Framed paintings are a timeless decor element that instantly enhances any room’s aesthetic, whether with a classic landscape, a modern abstract, or a personal piece of art.
Here’s another surprise from Home Goods—I know, I just said I usually steer clear of their furniture! But let me explain why this artisan-crafted side table caught my eye. With its rounded corners and luxurious grasscloth covering, it exudes an expensive look that would perfectly complement a cozy chair. This woven side table effortlessly blends function and style, offering natural materials and intricate craftsmanship that stand out in any room. It’s ideal for adding texture and warmth, seamlessly fitting into decor styles from coastal to eclectic. Plus, opting for artisan-made pieces ensures you’re getting a unique and durable addition to your home.
Why does everything made in Portugal feel so luxurious? Take Portuguese cotton bath towels, for example – they’re renowned for their exceptional quality, crafted from premium cotton that offers unmatched absorbency and softness. While they may cost a bit more per towel, they’re a wise investment due to their durability and long-lasting nature. Perfect for indulging in everyday comfort, these towels ensure a spa-like experience at home. Remember to care for them properly to preserve their luxurious feel wash after wash.
I’m all for furniture that pulls double duty, and these nubby ottomans hit the mark with their blend of comfort and style. Their textured fabric adds a delightful tactile feel to any room, perfect for extra seating or a stylish footrest. Crafted with artisanal attention to detail, each ottoman promises to be both functional and one-of-a-kind. While leaning contemporary, their versatile design ensures they can seamlessly fit into more traditional spaces as well, making them a versatile choice for any home.
Remember when I said scallops were a timeless detail worth splurging on? Well, this scalloped edge brass photo frame by Rachel Zoe is the perfect way to effortlessly incorporate that sweet detail into your home. Its versatile design fits seamlessly into various decor styles, adding a touch of elegance without overwhelming your space. Whether you’re sprucing up a gallery wall or showcasing cherished memories on a side table, this frame promises to elevate your decor game.
I’ve always had a soft spot for block prints—they’re a timeless art form that exudes artisanal quality, steeped in centuries of tradition. This pillow’s neutral hues and charming braided trim enhance its classic appeal, making it a versatile addition to any decor. Whether you’re aiming for a cozy corner or refreshing a living room, block prints like these effortlessly blend heritage charm with contemporary style.
You can’t go wrong with a woven storage basket, especially with the variety of affordable options available at Home Goods. These baskets are both practical and stylish, are sturdy, and are perfect for organizing items discreetly. Personally, I swear by artisan-made baskets, especially those woven with hyacinth – they add an undeniable timeless charm to any space.
When it comes to affordable home decor, tablecloths are such an easy thing to add to your table settings to make them feel more welcoming. And as far as affordable home decor goes, why spend a ton of money on something that is the first thing to get ruined after a big family meal? This toile tablecloth in particular is a classic piece that adds a touch of elegance and vintage charm to your dining area. Its intricate patterns and timeless design make it suitable for both formal and casual settings.
‘Tis the season of scalloped details, and these alabaster glass plates nearly found a place in my home. Their beauty isn’t just in their delicate design and translucent quality, but in their versatility to complement any table setting, whether for everyday meals or special occasions. Imagine how effortlessly they could elevate your dining experience with their timeless charm and understated elegance.
A kitchen is not a kitchen until you have a dutch oven. I swear by this hardworking essential and love having a 1 quart option for nights when I only need to cook up one serving of a meal. The warm taupe of this particular dutchie feels classic and would easily work with all types of kitchen designs. This cookware can get really pricey, so it is nice to have a more affordable option that feels just as high-end as its expensive counterparts.
I said I was in the market for a new summer quilt, and wouldn’t you know – I found one! I really love cotton quilts because they are suitable for all-season use. Finding one that is reversible makes it even easier to freshen up the bedroom when I get a little tired of the same old look. I was particularly drawn to the soft tans and blues of this quilt, so it definitely came home with me. When shopping for a quilt, opt for those that use traditional handcrafted techniques for added durability and character.
When it comes to classic luxury, you can’t beat marble bath accessories. Natural stone pieces are not only timeless but also incredibly durable. Artisan-made marble items guarantee unique veining and are typically high quality which makes them beautiful and lasting additions to any bathroom. I personally love the marble soap dish and matching canister most – and at $6.99/piece, you can’t beat it for affordable home decor.
And there you have it! Did you make it through to the end? Distinguishing between timeless and trendy items just takes a bit of consideration, but I hope you found some valuable insights in this post! What do you love hunting for at HomeGoods? Share your favorites in the comments below.
