The ugly side of social media 🤷🏼‍♀️ The ugly side of social media 🤷🏼‍♀️ If you know me well, you know that opening Instagram is a struggle for me. Anxiety is real, and I've quickly learned that putting your work in front of the world to judge opens you up to another level of vulnerability. What people don't see behind the scenes is the amount of care and attention to detail that gets put into each project. This Jack & Jill bath sits in a home built in 1935 which still had its original pink, yellow, and green color scheme. We recreated the floor pattern in a historically appropriate (as well as nice and fresh) color palette, salvaged the original doors by transforming them into pocket doors, and designed a vanity for two sweet kiddos (where there originally wasn't one) that echo'd the front door of their beautiful home. All of this to say every decision made on a project is important, and I did my best to honor the original intent of this bathroom while bringing it into the 21st century. These are just a few of the comments received on these photos (all of which have given me a great laugh - particularly the Taco Tuesday/lasagna analogy) and they just keep coming. I don't know if I could have handled this type of negativity a year ago, but now Im in a much better place and love the feedback. I'm praying for ya'll to take a nap and find it in yourselves to just be a nice human and show support to those of us who are still figuring it out. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk ✌🏼
So many questions yesterday about how to brighten So many questions yesterday about how to brighten up your space! Here is a great example of how we edited down this small corner to only a few statement items which really allows light to bounce around more effectively and make it feel brighter. The bench & artwork are much less bulky than what was existing, and the thin legs of the bench allow you to see more of the room - swipe to see the before 😄

Have you ever wondered what updating your old home Have you ever wondered what updating your old home could look like? We were lucky enough to have the chance to transform this 1870’s attic bedroom (nestled in one of the oldest homes in Colorado!) into a totally serene space complete with clean lines and cozy linens..can we all take a moment to appreciate bringing this room into the 21st century 😆 📸 @brandon.brightside

Took some cues from my mentor @lisascalomcmenamin and incorporated some whimsy with the #madamedepompadour wallcovering, added layers of sweet details (including the casual bohemian drapery trim), and a custom textural rug. We also reused a lot of existing pieces here, because you know - that’s the sustainable thing to do 😉 We still have some small items to add to complete this room and can’t wait to share the final product.
